The German Startups Association
Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V.
"The Voice of Startups in Germany"
As a representative and voice of startups in Germany, the German Startups Association is committed to establishing a founder-friendly environment. Opening up a dialogue with decision-makers in politics, it has itself advocated to reduce barriers for starting a business. The German Startups Association promotes innovative and high-tech entrepreneurship. Its aim is to foster an entrepreneurship mentality throughout Germany and Europe. Currently the association counts over 1,000 members and more than 25 working groups for specific branches, including Chemistry, Sustainability, Future Mobility, Artificial Intelligence and many more.
Sustainable innovations as well as digitalization present new strategic and structural challenges for the chemical industry. Changing competitive conditions and the societal demand for efficient and environmentally friendly use of resources are leading to comprehensive restructuring. The development of innovative technologies to increase the efficiency of production processes and the relevance towards a sustainable circular economy are focus areas of the “Chemiewende”.
Within the German Startups Association, the Chemistry Platform actively supports this “Chemiewende” development and sees itself as the first point of contact for sustainable and digital change in chemistry.
We bring together founders, startups, investors, corporates and decision-makers in a broad network. All our actions pursue the aim to implement and integrate the startup interests throughout the entire ecosystem and into society.
"The Future works here"
The Industriepark Höchst is an innovative chemical and pharmaceutical site in Europe’s heartland. The site, with its highly evolved infrastructure, is an ideal environment for research and manufacturing companies.
Another benefit is the dense regional network of world-class research institutes and universities. More than 90 companies with approximately 22,000 employees have found the perfect home for their business in a park measuring more than four square kilometers. From international corporations to creative service providers, the companies in the Industriepark Höchst flourish in this strong business and science environment.
CIEX – The Chemical Innovation Exchange blows the dust off stuffy conferences. It provides you with a fresh channel to explore cutting edge innovation in the rapidly evolving chemical industry. Connecting innovators with investors, potential customers and budget holders, we enable our delegates to share, collaborate, explore and experiment.
The CIEX Europe 2019 conference is organized by Merlien Institute, a dynamic publishing and events company for research and innovation. Established in 2008 Merlien runs conferences across the world and has hosted thousands of delegates.
The CIEX advisory board provides strategic advise to Merlien Institute and the conference production committee on the range of activities undertaken. The role of the Advisory Board is very important to us as they provide invaluable feedback and guidance to speakers and help steer speaker’s presentation content to the required standards and relevance.
